The Palanga Resort Museum is located in the architecturally unique villa "Anapilis". The villa, built at the end of the 19th century, belonged to the mother of Count Feliksas Tiškevičius of Palanga, Countess Sofija Tiškevičienė, thus giving it the nickname "Sofija.”

Legend has it that the owner of the villa Sofija Tiškevičienė used to summon and was drawn to the supernatural. Supposedly, the Countess had installed a secret mirror chamber above the attic of the villa. The locals used to avoid the villa due to the unsettling sounds of the wind organ emanating from the villa. It was said that the Countess was in poor health and as soon as she was feeling under the weather, she went to listen to the sounds of the wind organ to calm herself down.

The museum offers various archeological, historical exhibitions, numismatics and photographs. The museum also holds lectures, conferences, concerts, meetings, art exhibitions and film screenings.
