Šilutė church, built in 1926 by architect K. Gutknecht, is considered to be one of the most beautiful Evangelical Lutheran churches in Eastern Prussia. The church boasts a 50 meter tall tower, a unique altar and detailed frescos.

The impressive altar – merit of painter and former Koenigsberg Art Academy professor Richard Pfeifer. The 80 m² altar wall is decorated with a fresco illustrating 120 body-sized figures. Above the altar, you can see Adam and Eve praying in front of the Lamb of God, surrounded by portrays of 80 church’s historically significant personas. Despite this, the depictions of numerous biblical scenes on the church walls are also worth your attention.

The church is surrounded by a beautiful grove and is neighbored by a stylish parsonage.
