The construction of the Šilutė railway station began in 1875, simultaneously after the construction of the Klaipėda-Tilžė railway. The modern-style building complex was built in the final years of 19th and the beginning of 20th century, and now it is a cultural heritage object protected by the state.

The two-story brick building houses five residential apartments on the second floor.

Despite its age, the building complex retained its authenticity, with reconstructions only needed for its technical condition.
